John Marley is a retired major with the New Jersey State Police (NJSP), where he last served as Deputy Branch Commander for the Investigations Branch, overseeing 750 members across various sections, including Intelligence & Criminal Enterprise, Regional Operations Intelligence Center (ROIC), Special Investigations, and Forensic & Technical Services. He has extensive experience in counterterrorism, including domestic and international terrorism investigations, and criminal intelligence data investigation and analysis. John’s expansive career includes developing and delivering anti-terrorism awareness trainings, community outreach, and critical infrastructure protection.

Earlier in his career, he was assigned to the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness and the FBI, as well as various operational and supervisory roles within the NJSP. John began his NJSP career in 1995 and served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. He holds an M.A. in Education from Seton Hall University and a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Stockton University.
