Morristown, NJ – Porzio Compliance Services and its Assistant Vice President Aida L. Sanchez have been named a finalist in the Excellence in Consultancy: Compliance, Security Planning & Insurance category of the NJ Cannabis Insider 2023 Awards. The awards ceremony will take place at the Carteret Performing Arts Center on June 8th.
A former high-ranking emergency management and homeland security official for Jersey City and longtime security and technology consultant, Sanchez joined Porzio Compliance Services in February 2023 to expand its growing cannabis compliance practice. Sanchez, who has been working in the cannabis industry for over half a decade, quickly built a reputation as an effective and reliable compliance consultant. She specializes in the municipal application process for cannabis retailers to receive their recreational licenses, a process that can often prevent a business from ever opening its doors. Despite the extensive requirements one must meet to enter into the cannabis space, Sanchez has secured numerous recreational licenses for her clients, most notably helping to establish the first cannabis retailers in Roselle and Jersey City.
Before her work in the cannabis space, Sanchez worked in public and private sector security technologies. She served as the Deputy Coordinator for the Jersey City Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security for over 10 years, making history as the first Latina to fill the office. Prior to joining Porzio Compliance Services, Sanchez was the owner and CEO of EOC Technology Innovations LLC, a minority woman-owned business and consulting company helping public and private companies increase the security of their business operations based out of Jersey City.
