Former Executive County Superintendent, Yasmin E. Hernández-Manno, Joins Porzio Compliance Services

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – Porzio Compliance Services, LLC (PorzioCS) is pleased to announce that Yasmin E. Hernández-Manno has joined as Director of Education Compliance. Hernández-Manno’s extensive education background and her focus on multilingual and multicultural learning will be instrumental in serving schools and New Jersey’s growing diverse student population. With over 30 years as an educator, administrator, and consultant, she provides a unique background in education compliance and will join the team of educators who complement the work of the Education Law Team of the Porzio, Bromberg, and Newman law firm, of which PorzioCS is a wholly owned subsidiary.

In November 2022, Hernández-Manno became president of the newly formed New Jersey Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents. Most recently, she served as the Executive County Superintendent of Schools in Mercer, Burlington, and Middlesex Counties. She was the only Hispanic female serving in this capacity for the New Jersey Department of Education.

Before joining the NJDOE in 2014, Hernández-Manno had been an urban educator for 23 years in the largest urban school district in New Jersey, the Newark Public Schools. Recognized for her accomplishments in this role, Hernández-Manno received the first NJDOE Bilingual/ESL Model Program of Excellence Award in the Newark Public Schools.

Hernández-Manno earned her undergraduate bachelor’s degree in Spanish Literature and Certification in Education from Rutgers University and her master’s in Urban Education from Jersey City State University with District Administration Certification.  She’s attended the SUPES National Academy for Leadership, Harvard and Princeton Leadership Institutes, and advanced leadership certification program, NJ EXCEL. Hernández-Manno holds certifications as School Administrator, Principal, Supervisor, ESL Teacher, Bilingual/Bicultural Teacher, Spanish Teacher, and K-8 Elementary Teacher.
